Arba Wine is a national wine brand of Kazakhstan with its own vineyards in the high-altitude terroir of Assa Valley at the foothills of the Zailiysky Alatau Mountains. A classic tasting of 6 Reserve-class wines and a film about the winery’s history offer an introduction to the philosophy of Kazakh winemaking.

What to Expect

Arba Wine — a national wine brand of Kazakhstan founded in 2006.
The winery grows its own grapes in the unique high-altitude terroir of Assa Valley at the foothills of the Zailiysky Alatau Mountains, near the village of Karakemer in Almaty Region. Located at an altitude of about 1,000 metres, with clean mountain air, night breezes and mineral-rich soils, the region provides ideal conditions for creating distinctive terroir wines that have received awards at international competitions.

Arba Wine boutique wine shops operate in Almaty and Astana, where visitors can taste and purchase wines at attractive prices close to winery rates. The main way to discover the winery is through the classic tasting experience: guests taste 6 Reserve-class wines (3 white and 3 red), made from selected grapes and aged in the finest barrels, and watch a 15-minute film about the history of Arba Wine, its vineyards and winemaking philosophy. This provides a complete understanding of how wine is created and what makes the Kazakh terroir different from the world’s classic wine regions.

Additional options include cheese/meat platters, antipasti (salted and sun-dried vegetables), as well as private, themed or off-site tastings — the price is calculated individually depending on the number of guests, wines and chosen format.
