"Zhastar" Theater — one of the young and creative centers of art, which has firmly established its place in Kazakh theatrical art through its diversity and innovation. In just 16 years of its history, the theater has won 16 Grand Prix awards at international and national competitions, demonstrating the dedication and creative determination of its young ensemble.

The Zhastar Theater was founded on July 5, 2007, with the support of the Astana city administration. The temple of art opened its curtain for the first time with the play "Chinggis Khan" by Chingiz Aitmatov and Abish Kekilbayev (staged by Zhanish Kulmambetov, directed by Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Nurkanat Zhakypbai).

Ninety-nine percent of the theater's actors are graduates of the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, students of Professor and Honored Education Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, director Nurkanat Zhakypbai. The founders and the first generation to step onto the stage of the young theater include the young yet senior members of the troupe: Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Dauren Sergazin, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Adil Akhmetov, President of Kazakhstan Scholarship recipients Zhandaulet Bataiy and Ainur Rakhypova, holder of the "Enbek Dangi" badge Azamat Eskulov, recipient of the Jubilee Badge "Patriot of Kazakhstan" Bakhyt Khadzhibayev, and holders of the "Kurmiet" certificate from the professional union Madina Mai and Makhabbat Madgulova.
