In the spring of 1998, construction of the first phase of Zheruyyk Park was planned and launched. Residents of the city witnessed the planting of the first saplings by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Employees of central government agencies also took an active part in establishing the park by participating in community clean-up events. Over the years, the park's grounds were landscaped, the young trees matured, and today visitors can enjoy their lush shade, green lawns, and the rewarding sight of a place created for the benefit of future generations.

Although the construction of Zheruyyk Park began more than ten years before its opening, the park was officially inaugurated in 2008, when it welcomed its first visitors. It took a full decade for the young trees to grow and take root. The park covers an area of 21 hectares and is home to nearly 10,000 trees and shrubs representing eleven different species, including pine, birch, poplar, bird cherry, and many others. The lawns occupy a total area of 95,000 square meters, while the park's perimeter fence stretches for 3.5 kilometers. Today, the park features walking and cycling paths, benches, sculptural compositions, and other small architectural elements.

Today, Zheruyyk Park, whose name evokes a legendary land of prosperity, is considered one of Astana's most picturesque parks. It is located along Bauyrzhan Momyshuly Avenue at its intersection with Magzhan Zhumabayev Avenue. Convenient access roads, parking facilities, proximity to residential neighborhoods, scenic landscapes, and well-developed infrastructure make it an ideal destination for family recreation.

Children can enjoy modern playgrounds and a variety of attractions, while cycling enthusiasts and joggers will appreciate the dedicated bike lanes and running paths.

One of the park's most recognizable landmarks is the sculptural composition depicting the legendary Baiterek Tree. Located near the main entrance in the central part of the park, it features mythical two-horned winged horses soaring around the sacred tree, guarded by four tiger-griffins. The sculpture symbolizes the eternal cycle of life, linking the past with the future.

In 2008, the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, visited Zheruyyk Park once again to inspect the completed work and review the progress of the park's second phase.
