You will visit the ALZhIR Memorial Complex - one of the most tragic sites in Kazakhstan's history. This was the location of the Akmolinsk camp for wives of "enemies of the people," through which more than 18,000 women passed, whose only "crime" was their family ties. The museum's exhibition tells the stories of the prisoners, the strength of the female spirit, and the tragedy of the repressions.
Next is the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, a modern symbol of unity and harmony. This unique pyramidal building, designed by Norman Foster, is impressive both for its architecture and its philosophy - it is a place where religions, cultures, and ideas of peace come together.
