On March 1, 2007, Naz Professional Ensemble of Folk Dance was reorganized into the Naz State Dance Theater by the decision of the Akimat of Nur-Sultan.
The theater aims at promoting national folklore and Kazakh folk dance.
The Chief Manager of the theater is Erkebulan Agimbaev.
Naz State Dance Theatre is known both in Kazakhstan and abroad. The theater took part in various events such as Worldfestival Parad Brunssum (Europe), Warffum (Netherlands), and Altyn Karaguz (Turkey). The theater also toured Russia, France, Belgium, China, United Arab Emirates, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Qatar, Israel, and Ukraine.
The theater actively participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics in Qatar, the VII Asian Winter Games (2011), “Astana 2012 - the cultural capital of the Turkic world” Festival (2012), “Ufa - the city of unity and friendship” Festival (2012), and the EXPO-2017 International Exhibition.
In addition to concert programs, the repertoire includes choreographic dance performances and full-act dance performances.
