«The Light of Tengri» exhibition by Rafael Slekenov
On May 18, 2024, the National Museum will host the opening of the «The Light of Tengri» exhibition by Rafael Slekenov, as part of the 10th anniversary of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the exhibition is to introduce the work of Rafael Slekenov, whose art is widely known not only in Kazakhstan, but also abroad.
Rafael Slekenov is an artist, member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan, corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of the Tarlan Prize, scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture of Poland. The master has represented our country on the international stage more than once and made a huge contribution to improving the country’s image.
The exhibition «The Light of Tengri» presents a retrospective of R. Slekenov's work, associated with the history of the formation of independent Kazakhstan. The exhibition will present 80 works of the artist. The idea of the exhibition is to show and remind the audience of the beauty of purity, simplicity of human souls and how a person is able to preserve and see the beauty of the world around him by the example of his way of life.
At this exhibition the viewer will be able to plunge into a special magical world of the author. One can feel some childlike spontaneity in the works of the artist, seeing life through a rainbow prism. This wonderful life is so true, so real.
