Monument to the Defenders of the Fatherland — one of the most important monuments in Astana, dedicated to the feats of Kazakh people who defended their homeland during the Great Patriotic War and other periods of the country’s history. The memorial is a majestic composition with a central figure of a warrior symbolizing courage, strength, and the unwavering spirit of the nation.

Behind the statue stands a wall of memory with bas-reliefs depicting scenes of heroic battles and the labor feats of the home front. At the base of the monument burns the Eternal Flame, symbolizing the gratitude and eternal memory of descendants for the fallen heroes.
