Hazrat Sultan Mosque is one of the most modern landmarks of Astana today.
It is the largest mosque in Central Asia, built by 1,500 workers over three years before its opening. The building itself resembles an Eastern palace and is one of the most beautiful architectural monuments in the city of Astana.
The mosque has a dome 51 meters high and 28 meters in diameter. At the corners, there are four minarets, each 77 meters tall, and around the main dome are eight smaller domes. The classical Eastern style makes the Hazrat Sultan Mosque stand out. White was chosen as the main color for the façade and interior. Massive white columns decorate the central hall, enhancing the sense of monumentality. Traditional Kazakh ornaments abound in both the interior and façade.
The mosque can accommodate 10,000 people at the same time and is located on an area of 11 hectares. It includes a wedding hall alongside the prayer hall, ablution facilities, cloakrooms, and rooms for seminary lessons and Quran reading.
We highly recommend visiting the Hazrat Sultan Mosque, as it is unique in its architecture and stunning in its interior decoration.
