Training Course for Guides, Tour Guides: Professional Development before the V World Nomad Games

Fr om July 16 to 18, city guides and tour guides of Astana city took part in a three-day course to prepare for the upcoming V World Nomad Games. This course was organized by the Tourist Information Center “Visit Aqmola” under the Department of Tourism of Akmola region in cooperation with the national tourist association “Arman-tour” and the Union of guides, tour guides of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Akimat of Astana city and «Astana Development Center» LLP.

During the course the participants got acquainted with the main route from Astana city to Borovoy for further organization of excursions for tourists coming to the World Nomad Games. Special attention was paid to the history of creation and philosophy of Abylai Khan's stele, as well as to the publications dedicated to the history of Burabai resort and its importance for the cultural heritage of the country.

The practical part of the training included sessions at natural and cultural heritage sites such as Abylai Khan's glade, Mount Bolektau and Lake Auliekol. On the last day of the course, July 18, the participants visited the city of Astana, wh ere they were given guided tours of key attractions such as the Main Cathedral Mosque and the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This training was an important step in the development of tourism, contributing to the training of qualified guides and tour guides and strengthening their professional skills. It is expected that this event will not only help in welcoming guests to the World Nomad Games, but also increase the attractiveness of the capital city to the international and domestic tourism community.
