Astana Showcased Its Tourism Potential at the Forum in Istanbul

Istanbul, October 22, 2024 — A forum to promote Kazakhstan's tourism opportunities was held in Istanbul, organized on the initiative of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Istanbul and with the support of the Association of Travel Agencies of Turkey (TÜRSAB), one of the largest professional organizations in the country. More than 100 tour operators, representatives of the tourism industry and national air carriers gathered at the event.

The event has become an important platform for establishing business ties and promoting Kazakhstan's tourist destinations in Turkey.

Kazakh Consul General in Istanbul Nuriddin Amankul noted that Kazakhstan and Turkey share deep historical and cultural ties. Both countries are part of the Turkic world, which is reflected in common traditions and cultural heritage. This contributes to strengthening cooperation between States, including in the field of tourism.

The cities of republican significance were represented at the forum: Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, as well as three regions: Mangystau, Turkestan and East Kazakhstan. The forum participants got acquainted with the cultural and natural wealth of these regions, as well as their tourist potential.

Head of the Inbound Tourism Specialization of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) Orhan Sanjar highlighted the importance of promoting Kazakhstan as an attractive destination for Turkish tourists, stressing that this direction has great potential to increase the tourist flow

Аfter the presentations, B2B meetings were held, at which tour operators discussed issues of cooperation and possible formats of travel packages. The discussion focused on both existing proposals and new opportunities for collaboration in the field of tourism.

The event ended with a tasting of Kazakh national dishes and sweets, which allowed the guests to immerse themselves in the traditional culture of Kazakhstan.
