Lecture by Anna Vilenskaya “From blues to rock: a brief history of English-language music of the 20th century”

BC "Moscow" Conference hall "Moscow", st. Dostyk, 18

Anna  Vilenskaya is a musicologist, lecturer, and researcher of contemporary music. Anna began giving lectures when she was still studying at the conservatory.

Let's talk about how blues, rock and roll, rhythm and blues and rock evolved, and how to distinguish them from each other by ear - so that next time you can use these words correctly. We will analyze the music of Elvis Presley and The Beatles, study the Yoruba language a little to understand why there are five notes in the blues, and try to build a history of the evolution of music that has captured the whole world.
