Theater Zhastar

Theater Zhastar are one of the young and creative art centers, which, with their diversity and innovation, clearly marked their place in Kazakh theatrical art. In just 16 years of its history, the theater has won 16 Grand Prix at International and Republican competitions - which is an indicator of the focus and creative determination of the young team. 

​Theater Zhastar were founded on July 5, 2007 with the support of the capital's akimat. The temple of art opened its curtains for the first time with the play “Genghis Khan” by Chingiz Aitmatov and Abish Kekilbayev (author of the stage play Zhanysh Kulmambetov, director, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Nurkanat Zhakypbay).

The first director of the young theater was the laureate of the Youth Union of Kazakhstan, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gani Kulzhanov, then in different years the theater was headed from 2013-2015. Aibolat Zhaudyr, 2015-2020 Yernar Dzhumataev, 2020-2023 Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize Adil Akhmetov, from May to October 2023, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Tanatarov Dosymzhan. Today, the duties of director of the theater are performed by Azamat Zhumabaevich Eskulov. The artistic director and chief director is the founder of the theater, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Nurkanat Zhakypbay.

99 percent of theater actors are graduates of the Kazakh National Academy of Art. T. Zhurgenova, students of the workshop of professor, excellent student of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, director Nurkanat Zhakypbay. The founders and those who first entered the art arena of the young theater are the young, but already older generation of the theater group - Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Dauren Sergazin, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Adil Akhmetov, holder of the scholarship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhandaulet Batai, holder of the scholarship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ainur Rakhipova, holder of the badge "Enbek" danky" Azamat Eskulov, holder of the anniversary badge "Patriot of Kazakhstan" Bakhyt Khadzhybaev, holders of the "Kurmet" diploma of the public association trade union Madina May and Makhabbat Madgulova.

   ON MARCH 1, 2015, “ZHASTAR THEATER” RECEIVED A NEW BUILDING AND OPENED THE CURTAIN FOR THE IX THEATER SEASON IN ITS OWN TEMPLE OF ART.

   TODAY THE THEATER'S REPERTOIRE HAS 68 PERFORMANCES. YOU CAN ESPECIALLY NOTE EACH WORK OF ART THAT HAS RECEIVED RECOGNITION BY THE PUBLIC.
