The opening of the art gallery “HAS SANAT” took place in Astana in 2003. For 20 years, the main activity of the gallery has been to introduce residents of the capital to unique works of different generations of Kazakh artists, inextricably linked with the rich national heritage, rooted in the depths of centuries. Another direction of the gallery’s work is the discovery of new names in art and the creation of a creative atmosphere for the development of young talents, and the gallery often hosts exhibitions of famous foreign artists. For many years, the gallery hosted the Spring Salon to support young artists.

Art connoisseurs are presented with multi-genre and multifaceted works reflecting various areas of fine art from realism, modernism, abstraction to contemporary art in painting, graphics, sculpture, installations and tapestry.

The art gallery “HAS SANAT”, which means “true art” in Kazakh, was opened 20 years ago, and this has become an additional window into the world of art for the cultural life of the capital. To date, the gallery has organized more than 300 major exhibitions, interesting excursions, educational master classes and lectures with the participation of artists and art historians, as well as more than 20 charity events.

In addition, the gallery has implemented various international projects, such as “Altyn Gasyr (Golden Age), “Colors of Kazakhstan” (in the Kingdom of the Netherlands). The international traveling exhibition “Altyn Gasyr” started in 2006 at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall in Moscow and visited more than 40 cities in Europe and Asia: Moscow, Warsaw, Berlin, Stuttgart, Munich, Frankfurt, Einthoven, Amsterdam, The Hague, Vienna, Ankara, Istanbul (Yunus Emre Cultural Center, Archaeological Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art), Seoul (Lotte Center), etc. Through the popularization of the fine arts of Kazakhstan, the international project “Altyn Gasyr” tells the world about the country: our history, original Kazakh art, culture and special philosophy of the nomads.

Now the traveling collection of the Nas Sanat art gallery includes more than a hundred works in various genres and directions, modern installations and bold experiments on the theme of ethno-symbolism. Carrying out such events makes a significant contribution to the cultural development of our capital, to the popularization of Kazakhstan abroad, as well as to the development of international cooperation and cultural ties with citizens of foreign countries.
