Contemporary Art Center “KULANSHI” was founded in Astana in 2006. For eighteen years, a project has been actively working in many in many fields of promoting and popularizing art in society. At the moment, the project is implementing its activities at two main places - the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation and the Forte Kulanshi Art Space.
Located on the sixth floor of the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, the Center houses exhibition halls with a total area of 800 squares, a main office of the Center and an art studio. Over the years, about 200 group and personal exhibitions have been executed with the participation of both artists of Kazakhstan and foreign countries. Exhibition projects are held continuously, replacing each other almost every month. Not only famous artists are selected to participate in art projects, but also young and begginer and talented artists.
In addition to temporary exhibition projects, visitors have an opportunity to see the graphics of famous european Old Masters and modern artists. In a small permanent exhibition hall you can find original artworks by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, as well as graphics of Albrecht Dürer and Rembrandt van Rijn, restored by restorers from Germany.
It is noteworthy that the Center also has its own educational program. Art classes for children and adults are held in a specially equipped art studio space. It also hosts master classes and events organized jointly with charitable organizations.
