Astana Development Center launched the first course in Kazakhstan on creating an accessible urban and social environment for persons with disabilities and low-mobility groups.
Since December 2, 2024, Astana has launched a unique for Kazakhstan project “Seminar on accessible infrastructure and services for the population taking into account the needs of persons with disabilities and immobile groups”. The project is organized by the Astana Development Center LLP of the Astana City Akimat.
Inclusion is a key element of modern society, aimed at creating conditions in which people with physical and mental disabilities can fully participate in public life. The implementation of this project will be an important step towards the formation of an accessible and inclusive urban environment, providing equal opportunities for all categories of citizens, as well as strengthening the position of Astana as a modern, comfortable and hospitable city for all.
For the implementation of the project attracted the experts of OUL “Eurasian Association for the Development of Inclusive Society”, who developed the National Standard ST RK 3846-2023, approved by the order of the Chairman of the Committee of Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan on November 14, 2023.
In the first days of work, December 2-3, 30 people were trained. In total, 200 specialists of tourist facilities and hotels of Astana city will be trained. Participants will receive theoretical and practical knowledge and tools to create a comfortable and accessible environment for immobile citizens, which will further increase the level of tourist attractiveness of the capital.
